F650GS

The 2008 F650GS dual-sport bike, powered by a version of
the acclaimed F800 engine, is an all-new version of this
well-loved motorcycle. The earlier single-cylinder F650
spawned the outright winners in the 1999 Granada-Dakar
Rally and the 2000 Paris-Dakar-Cairo event. Now with
over 20 more horspower, the latest F650GS is more
refined and will still take you anywhere you want to go:
the city, the country, or any road in between. Take the
F650GS on long or short rides, solo or two-up and even
on mild trails. The F650GS is a worthy stablemate to the
ultimate dual-sport bike, BMW's renowned R1200GS.
The strong twin-cylinder engine has impressive torque, peaking at a low 4500
rpm. Weighing only 376 pounds dry, the GS has a low centre of gravity with its
under-seat fuel tank. The liquid-cooled engine, with its' unique rocker
balancing mechanism, requires little maintenance. The first valve adjustment is
not before 20,000 km.
BMW never ignores safety features and the F650GS is no exception with
available antilock brakes and tire pressure monitoring.
As light as it is, the F650GS is easy to ride for all. Two no-cost options
make it very accessible for riders with short inseams: an accessory low seat or
a lowered chassis package which includes the low seat.
